EDITOR'S WORD

Former model and current stylist - Nadiia Shapoval shares her beauty secrets and style preferences.

Why did you choose this look?

It was a perfect weather in Tbilisi, I just wanted to show little bit of skin and I chose perfect pool party look.

What is your most cherished fashion related memory?

Fashion evokes real, raw feelings which aren't a lot but for instance when I have a photo shoot as a stylist or I am modeling myself I am always emotional. For me this is the most valuable thing to reach in art.

The most disliked trend?

Post soviet aesthetics isn't close to my heart.

How would you describe your personal style?

I can't say that I am minimalistic but for me less is always more. Japanese designers make huge influence on my general style.

Which designer does not disappoint every season?

Every designer can have an ups and downs I wouldn't judge them too strictly. I always follow Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garcons and Junya Watanabe they are incredible as well as Phoebe Philo old Celine and vintage clothes.

Nadiia's choice

What is the best fashion advice you have ever received?

Best advice that I got from was by stylist based in Milan. She is over 60 and has very rich fashion background. I used to model for her and now we are very close friends and she told me once ‘‘you are precious" …

The best beauty advice you have ever received?

Give your skin a rest; do not look into mirror every 30 minutes.

Describe your daily routine?

My daily beauty routine starts with working out, meditation and than just to read a book. But of course i take care of my skin using different cosmetics and taking visits to cosmetologist in different countries and i love my genius hairdresser from Kiev. But i emphasize more on my inner beauty.
